Always Put Halloween Safety 1st

Halloween home haunts safety is important always haunt safe

Halloween lighting is an important part of home haunting. At the very least, without it nobody could see all the props and decorations you setup for the big night!

But used with a little finesse, the proper creepy lighting effects can transform a front yard or garage to a haunted Halloween masterpiece.

One of the draw backs of setting up Halloween lighting is that they need juice and home haunters end up running many winding feet of extension cords to power all their lights, fog machines along with various other props.

Always read and follow the manufacture’s safety documentation when using extension cords and the electrical equipment that plugs into them. We only plug our cords into Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets which should protect us from shock and electrocution which would be very scary!

Even though we use these we still take the time to cover plug in points with rain proofing like in this case a plastic bowl over the end of the extension where all the Halloween lights are plugged in. (See Red arrow/circle)

Another thing you may notice in this picture that all the cords are run off to one side and never go across where trick or treaters will be walking. Tripping hazards are another Halloween safety tip that we go to great lengths to prevent.

We always have an incredible amount of fun when we setup our home haunt for Halloween but no matter what kind of props and decorations we setup we always put haunt safety first in our ideas and plans.

We hope you all do too!!
